Bishop Adventist Christian School (BACS) has a long history in the Bishop community. The school was established in 1905 and has been at its present location on Home Street since 1953. Over the past 120 years teachers have come and gone, but the mission of the school has remained constant – to educate the whole child, spiritually, mentally, and physically.
The school board conducted a feasibility study in the fall to confirm community interest in reopening the school. The board spent the winter and spring recruiting teachers, however, we were unsuccessful in finding candidates willing to move forward with the hiring process.
At our June 2026 school board meeting, the board made the difficult decision to suspend the school’s operation for the 2026-2027 school year.
We will continue to seek Adventist educators to fill the vacancies with hope to open for the 2027-2028 school year and invite you to join us in praying for God to provide the teachers He is calling to BACS.
